Overview Block Gate Control

This control element operates a gate, a door or a barrier – for instance the garage door or the driveway gate. The tile shows whether the gate is open, closed or moving; in the dialog it is opened, stopped and closed. On request the gate closes by itself after an adjustable time and reports when it has been open for too long.

Operation

Gate control on the page
  1. State: as text, for example Closed, Open, Intermediate position, Opening, Closing, Pre-warning, Obstacle, Locked, Long open, Fault or Unknown.
  2. Gate leaf: the rectangle represents the passage, the gate leaf slides over it – full means closed, empty means open, in between according to the position. Depending on the setup it comes from the top like a garage door or from the side like a sliding gate. With the ring for a motor lock the arc grows with the opening.
  3. ! and ?: an exclamation mark reports a fault, a question mark that the position is not known.
  4. Colour: normally the font colour; orange during a running pre-warning, on an obstacle or when the gate has been open for long, red on a fault.

As a circle (basic screen) the element only shows the gate leaf or the ring. A tap on the element opens the dialog.

The dialog

The dialog
  1. Symbols of the title bar: clock, presence and settings, see below.
  2. Open, Stop, Close: act at once. Open or Close lights up while the gate moves in this direction. Stop halts the gate and also cancels a running pre-warning. On an obstacle the gate does not close.
  3. Partial opening: opens the gate only a bit, for instance for pedestrians or for airing. The button is only there when a time is entered for it in the settings.
  4. Acknowledge: only appears on a fault and acknowledges it.
  5. State values: State, Position in percent (open), whether the gate is about to close by itself (Closes automatically: Yes, No or pre-warning running) and whether the Warning light is on.

OK closes the dialog.

Settings

Settings
  1. Close automatically: after this many minutes the open gate closes by itself, up to 240 minutes. Before that the warning light runs for the pre-warning time set at the function block. While an obstacle is present or the gate is locked, the time waits until this is cleared. off (0) switches the function off.
  2. Partial opening: for this many seconds the gate opens on a partial opening – at most as long as a full travel. off (0) switches the partial opening off; the button and the switching time action are then omitted.
  3. Long open after: when the gate has been open for this many minutes, it counts as long open: the display turns orange and the function block reports it. off (0) switches the message off.

Save transfers the settings to the controller; they are kept there and survive a restart.

Switching times and presence

Behind the clock there are switching times with an action: Open, Close or Partial opening – a tap on the value switches on. A new switching time is set to No action and moves nothing until an action has been chosen. Opening and closing by a switching time run through the pre-warning, provided it is set at the function block; after that the gate drives in the requested direction. An obstacle cancels only the pre-warning before closing, opening continues. Everything else about switching times is described under Presence.

Behaviour on presence

Behind the house a time of its own for the automatic closing can be set per presence state – when leaving the house for example shorter than at home. A tap on a symbol switches the own time for this state on and off, a tap on the value opens the entry. 0 means Do not close. By default no state has a time of its own, so the value from the settings applies everywhere.

Setup

This section is meant for the installer of the system.

The control element is linked to the function block Block Gate Control: first create the function block and its addresses, then right click on the control element and select the function block. In the same menu Take comment takes over the name of the function block as text. Without a link no dialog opens. See also Presence.

Parameters

Display

View Block, Basic screen or List – as a list entry the text is on the left and the gate leaf on the right.
Representation Direction in which the gate leaf moves: From top like a garage door or a blind (default), From left or From right like a sliding gate. Ring shows a ring instead of the rectangle – suitable for a motor lock that only knows open and closed.
Text Caption of the tile and title of the dialog, default Tor. Its size scales with the element, a line break is inserted with \n, two lines at most.

Address links

All addresses sit at the function block and are taken over when linking.
